You’ve just been hypnotized.  Or.. maybe you haven’t.   While the hypnotist did his/her part and you listened, you just don’t *feel* hypnotized.  In fact, you feel pretty much like you did when the session began.  Was it all just a waste of time?

To determine the answer, one must begin with a good understanding of the basics of hypnosis.  Once you grasp the basics, then you will be able to more accurately evaluate the session.

There’s no one way to “feel” when being hypnotized.  Often people describe feeling very relaxed and a little drowsy during a session, however this is a result of their acceptance of the suggestions they’ve been given.  For example, “Sit back, relax, close your eyes, and begin to allow your body to relax”.

Some profess to be so deeply hypnotized that they do not remember anything that happened.  Quite often when people express concerns about whether or not they have been hypnotized, it is because they expect to feel something similar. This type of feeling can happen, but it is just one way that people feel when hypnotized.  The subconscious mind accepts or rejects suggestions regardless of the depth of trance.

To determine if you have been hypnotized,  ask yourself:’

• Was I focused?
• Was I suggestible?

If yes, then you were hypnotized.

For example, if you received suggestions that are erotic in nature, were you aroused either physically or mentally?  If so, you were hypnotized.

Look to the results.

Some of us need to hear a session a few times before we fully embrace some suggestions.  This is especially true of when striving to change a habit.   If over a period of time you note a change in behavior, you were hypnotized.

Perhaps instead of worrying about whether or not you were hypnotized, it might prove helpful to let go and just enjoy the process.  Your subconscious mind is on the job :)

Not too long ago I told Richard about the Domme aspect of my life and the part hypnosis plays in it.   He was a bit surprised because of his preconceived notions about Dommes, but he was accepting and interested.   I am amazed there are now four men in my every day life – all living in my conservative, religious, Southern town* – who know about my Dommeliness and who completely accept it without any qualms whatsoever.  It feels wonderful to know I can be myself around them, especially since I spend so much time with them.

My confession took place the night of Graham’s barbecue and since we were all there together and the topic had been raised, we decided to have a little hypnotic fun.  I hypnotized all four of them, one at a time.

Initially I didn’t do anything in the slightest bit kinky. I’ve hypnotized Bill and Graham many times over the past few years so I thought the most effective way to explain triggers to Richard would be a demonstration.

Graham has had a verbal trigger for a long time, so I used it to take him under and then helped deepen his trance with a few suggestions. Since he has been a bit down recently, I decided to cheer him up a bit by holding his hand in mine, brushing my fingertips across his palm, and telling him how good it felt – soothing, but a bit ticklish. He laughed a little, so I suggested it would work when he did it as well. After teasing the palm of his hand for a bit, having him do the same,  and watching as he smiled and laughed, I brought him back up.  Since he is by nature the most solemn among us, I think Richard was surprised to see Graham so relaxed and animated.

Bill has a trigger that is more physical in nature. All I have to do is reach up, caress his temple, and he’s under very deeply, very quickly. In addition, of all of them, it is easiest to convince him to forget the suggestions I’ve given.  I eased him under and decided to use that amnesiac ability to have a little fun.

He’s a very competitive person – he *really* likes to win but he’s good-natured about it. He’s also very proud of his poker face.   To mess with him a bit, I suggested that during their card game that night, every time he thought he had the winning hand, he would clear his throat.  It seemed to work like a charm and he must not have remembered the suggestion at all because later every time he cleared his throat the others laughed and he looked truly puzzled as to why. Finally the third time he did it, they told him.

Richard was attentive the whole time, but being the cheeky fella he is, he finally urged, “Show me something a Domme would do.” I almost laughed right then because of course, by saying that he was urging the Evil Cowgirl to come out and play.

Since it was David’s turn next, I decided to be gentle – mostly.  I did a short induction where I described him lying back in a hammock on a warm sunny day, feeling so relaxed, letting his mind wander and allowing all his conscious thoughts to slip away. After about five minutes he seemed to be completely relaxed and suggestible. After casually wrapping a tie I’d borrowed from Graham around David’s wrists, I told him he would feel as if he were completely bound and unable to free himself unless I allowed him to. At my encouragement, he tried but to no avail. When I asked him how it felt to know he couldn’t get away, he replied it felt good.. exciting.. and shifted in his seat a bit. Because I didn’t want to embarrass him too much I brought him up.

Richard was intrigued and clearly enjoying watching. He teased me for bringing David up so quickly, asking if I was trying to keep David from being embarrassed – or me.

With him, I did a much longer induction. I wanted to make sure he was really suggestible :) (See my halo?) After about ten minutes, I asked him to imagine he was sitting at the bar in the kitchen at Bill’s. I’d just finished making brownies and he had just watched me lick the spoon. (Yes, he squirmed. I felt no pity.) I then described handing him the bowl and asked him to imagine running his finger along the inside and then slipping it inside his mouth to lick it clean. “When you do, whatever you feel on your index finger, you’ll feel on your favorite body part as well.  You’ll remember everything that’s happened during this time whenever I awaken you.”

The others snickered and nearly made me laugh as well, but I maintained my composure.  I stood behind his chair as he followed my instructions.  I didn’t want him to be toooo embarrassed when I brought him up.  After three or four times of his finger “swiping the bowl” I brought him up and then left the room.   Walking away, I heard him say, “DAMN!” as the others burst out laughing.

I was thinking back to all that today when they were playfully harassing me.  You’d expect them not to mess with me too much when they know what I might do to them.  Hmm… you don’t think they tease me to *get* me to do things to them… do you?

*I’m not knocking conservative, religious Southerners.  There are some who are very open and accepting.

If this describes you, don’t despair.  Remember that hypnosis is a perfectly natural state of mind.  We slip in and out of trance several times a day – when we are daydreaming, when we are watching a program and everything else seems to fade into the background, when we are reading, etc.

There are a few easy steps that can make all the difference, especially when you are being hypnotized via MP3:

1.  Only listen to someone you have determined you can trust.

2.  Place yourself in a familiar, relaxing environment – wherever you usually relax (as long as it is safe and private enough for you to be hypnotized there).

3.  Listen to the session as you would if you were listening to the hypnotist chatting with you on the phone.  Don’t expect anything to happen or try to make anything happen.  Pay attention to what is being said like you would during a conversation that truly interested you.  Instead of focusing on how you feel, focus on the words, the sound of her voice, etc.

4.  When you are done, don’t over-analyze.  If you responded to the suggestions, great, but if you think you didn’t, let it go.  Listen again the  next time you have a chance (perhaps alternating MP3s if you get bored with one).  If you keep doing it this way, quite soon you will find yourself responding.

It’s thrilling to think of what this could mean for those who are paralyzed.

I have decided to conduct one of my “experiences” in The Circle of Dreams.   You still have time to join and participate if you are interested.  (This experience is open only to members of that group, no exceptions, so joining is a requirement.)

Before we progress, I need to make certain you understand what will be required of you.  If you make a commitment to me to do this, you will:

3.  Unless I direct otherwise, you will not touch for pleasure from the moment you purchase the ties until I say you are finished.  This could be only a couple of days or it could be longer depending on your schedule.

4.  Unless I direct otherwise, you will not listen to any hypnosis MP3s, participate in any trances, etc from the moment you purchase the ties until I say you may.  The only exception to this would be listening to a hypnosis MP3 for some health-related reason (like insomnia, anxiety, etc.)

5.  You will post daily to tell me of your progress.  If you are shy then I will permit you to post simply, “I am obeying”, but I *really* want you to post about how you are feeling, how things are going with following my directions, etc.  It excites me to read your words and to think of my control over you.  I’m pretty certain if you look at it in that light, you’ll find posting easier.  After all – doesn’t the thought of exciting a really sexy woman completely turn you on?

Controlling through hypnotic tease and denial is a tremendous turn-on.  Well, controlling in any fashion is a turn-on ;)
