(Free Thinking Writer left this as a response to my previous post. Since it was a quite detailed comment, I thought it warranted posting here. Thank you FTW :)
Hello, Lady Julia.
Those are fun questions. I’d like to first respond to what you said before answering your questions from my perspective.
I have read stories of a wide variety of women using hypnotic control. It’s not always just some stunning woman. But then my attitude about women — “stunning” is usually far more about attitude that the sort of appearance you can see in a random photograph. But that’s just me.
Okay, to answer your questions…
I’m a skeptic. I don’t believe true mind control of any sort is possible. Well, with known methods, anyway — who knows what will happen in the future? If it were possible, wouldn’t the US government use it on terrorist suspects instead of engaging in controversial, lengthy interrogation techniques?
I do believe there are a variety of ways to make someone more likely to accept a suggestion. There are certainly a variety of tools one can use to convince another to do what one may wish. Hypnosis may be one of those tools. I find a smile can work wonders though, too.
Would I find it exciting to lose control to someone else? It would depend on what she were going to do. If I trusted her, then yes, it might be quite exciting, at least for a while.
As I’ve said a few times in the past, I’m certainly quite curious as to what is truly possible through hypnosis. There are so many mind control type stories out there — I suspect written by people who have never been hypnotized nor hypnotized someone else — that it’s impossible for me to tell fact from fantasy. Being the sort of person who is pretty much eternally curious, it would be interesting me to experience first hand an example of what hypnosis can do. As a skeptic, I presume the answer is something more than “nothing” but quite some distance from the total mind control you see in popular fiction.
As for temporary or permanent… Well, I don’t believe complete control is possible. Nor do I believe permanent hypnotic control is possible. However… I don’t believe that I would be interested in a woman who wanted a puppet.
There are days — stressful days perhaps, or depressing days, or just bad mood days — when it would be nice to just let go and ask someone else to take complete responsibility. “I just don’t want to make any more decisions today” sort of days. Or perhaps, “I just don’t want to be responsible for anything else today.”
One must also recognize that one of the underlying allures of the entire mind control fantasy is the thought of being wanted — that someone would want us that completely. Furthermore, many men especially develop a profound feeling that, “No decision I make is going to satisfy her” or “Nothing I do works” or “I don’t have any idea what women want.” These questions have become cliches. MC fantasies mean we don’t have to figure it out anymore.
So — short answers:
-Do I believe MC is possible? No, not really.
-Would it appeal? With someone I trusted, yes. Note: turnabout is fair play!
-Temporary or permanent? Temporary. Frequently, perhaps, but temporary each time.
FTW
